Rubicon supports CHEP’s Manchester solar project
Rubicon is proud to have supplied essential components to Noble Green Energy for CHEP's ongoing sustainability initiatives.
Building on the success of the solar installation at CHEP’s Pontefract site, Noble Green Energy was commissioned to install a system at CHEP’s Manchester site. Rubicon supplied 822 Canadian Solar 435W panels, which Noble Green Energy used to create a 357 kWp system. With three inverters delivering a usable peak power of 275 kW, this system now meets 20% of the site’s annual electricity demand.
Solar PV energy production at the site is expected to reach around 338,000 kWh per year, cutting 169 tonnes of carbon emissions – equivalent to eliminating 60,000 heavy goods vehicle (HGV) road miles or planting 7,600 trees.
All the energy generated by this system is consumed on-site, with real-time monitoring against the incoming electricity supply. This allows CHEP to measure the direct benefits of the system and explore opportunities for further efficiencies as the business evolves.
With current energy prices, the return on investment is anticipated to be achieved in less than four years.
We are thrilled to have supported Noble Green Energy in delivering this project and to continue aiding CHEP in their commitment to sustainability.
